Technical Information

ClipFlipz are compatible with most modern metal and plastic spectacle frames and have a convenient one handed application. No more small fiddly clips around the lenses which can be quite hard to see whilst not wearing your glasses. Their ergonomic design ensures a comfortable and secure fit with maximum protection from sunlight. Highly specified materials provide a high quality, durable and reliable product. Each pair comes with a microfibre cleaning cloth, a press stud rigid case to help you protect your purchase and 12 months warranty against manufacturing defects.
Spring Clip
The low profile, squeeze to open, clip mechanism is virtually unbreakable in normal use and won't damage your lenses. The rear metal part of the clip has soft rubber sleeves to prevent damage and enhance grip, once in position they won't move. The lenses are riveted firmly to the clip mechanism so there are no screws to come loose, fall off and get lost. The high tension spring loaded clip has two positive indexing lens positions, flipped down for sun protection or flipped up by approximately 140 degrees for instant normal vision. This is especially useful and convenient when you go indoors.
Lenses
ClipFlipz polarised clip-ons come with superior 0.8mm TAC (Tri-Acetate Cellulose) lenses for perfect optical quality and enhanced durability. They cut glare from reflective surfaces such as water and roads. Objects become more distinct, colours more vibrant and the contrast and sharpness in your vision is increased. TAC lenses are infused with polarising filters that permeate the layers thus eliminating the de-lamination issues commonly associated with cheap polarised lenses, a very important consideration for rimless sunglasses, plus they are less susceptible to shrinkage. Our grey smoke and brown polarised lenses are rated UV filter category 3 and are suitable for bright sunlight, driving and general purpose wear. Copper polarised lenses are rated UV filter category 2 suitable for average sunlight, driving and general purpose wear.
ClipFlipz shatterproof clip-ons come with 2.0mm polycarbonate lenses and are both lightweight and scratch resistant. Polycarbonate lenses naturally filter nearly 100 percent of UV rays without the need for additional coatings. They are are lighter and more durable than traditional plastic sunglasses lenses providing comprehensive protection and comfort. Because they are less likely to fracture than regular plastic lenses, they are excellent for rimless eyewear designs such as clip-on flip-up sunglasses. Our grey smoke polycarbonate lenses are rated UV filter category 3 and are suitable for bright sunlight, driving and general purpose wear. Copper driver lenses are rated UV filter category 2 suitable for average sunlight, driving and general purpose wear.
ClipFlipz driving clip-ons are available with either polycarbonate or polarised high definition copper driver lenses. These lenses provide sharper contrast and image definition by blocking blue light and reducing road glare whilst preserving a natural colour balance for comfortable viewing in the day-light. Driver lenses relax the eye muscles to reduce stress whilst driving and are designed to highlight the critical driving colours, i.e. red, amber and green. They heighten visual acuity, improving contrast and depth perception in variable light conditions.
All our optical quality rimless lenses are perfectly cut and finished. They comply with the latest European Directive 89/686/EEC in accordance with Standard BS EN 1836:2005/A1:2007 and absorb 100% of harmful UVA and UVB rays whilst maintaining high levels of visible contrast.
ClipFlipz must not be used for direct viewing of the sun or in a solarium.
